Loki: Episode One: Glorious Purpose (Spoiler Alert!)

So the much awaited show Loki aired its first episode on 9th June 2021 and... it wasn't THAT great to be honest. Here's my take on it. Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Starting with where Loki steals the tesseract in MCU, Loki arrives at an unknown place where he's taken in by the TVA - Time Variance Authority which then proceeds to process him like any other "variant" in time which was pretty humorous. Loki, like always, attempts to escape and almost succeeds until he finds out how his life ends and how much power the TVA has, then Agent Mobius, a "big fan" of Loki suggests that he help them to deal with some problems they were facing. The episode ends at a point where Agent Mobius tells Loki something shocking and the rest we'll find out in the coming episodes.

One of the few things I liked about Loki was that he was his usual smart, funny and witty self who kept the humor up with his actions and responses. Being the first episode there isn't much to comment on but the story that it starts to build up seems interesting and something we can look forward to. 

There was a point where this show mocks the infinity stones and that was one of the highlights for me. Just imagine, THE infinity stones being used as paperweights! So much meme content!



The TVA seems a bit too exaggerated to me, though what they actually are will be seen in the later episodes but even after being equipped with the biggest weapon of all universe, the ability to manipulate time, they seem too fragile to be easily killed. But that is just my opinion, they might be simply human or maybe the ones killed were just minor pawns.

There isn't a lot of build up that would prompt the viewers to continue watching, however this being the story of one of our favorite villains is one of the things that could make them stay. I would rate this episode a 4 out of 5 because it doesn't exactly meet my expectations from a Marvel Cinematic Universe production, but gives us hope that there could be a lot of juice in the future. Let's wait and see what happens in the coming episodes.

Loki - Prince of Asgard, God of Mischief

Hello readers. I think it would be not a wrong guess when I say more than half the world has watched and loved the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, etc., we all have our favorite heroes and villains. On top of all these amazing movies and series, Marvel had decided on a Phase: 4 of the Universe, with several new shows and movies for the rest of the marvel characters, who survived the Endgame.
